Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit
- Minimum Qualification: 10th Pass (12th Pass also eligible for Seaman)
- Deck Rating / Engine Rating / Seaman: 17.5 – 25 years
- Electrician & Welder: Up to 27 years
- Mess Boy & Cook: 10th Pass, up to 27 years
- 12th result awaited candidates may also apply
Exam Pattern & Selection Process
The Merchant Navy 2025 exam will be held in September 2025. It will be a 2-hour exam with 100 multiple-choice questions. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer will apply. Subjects include:

- Science Knowledge
- English Knowledge
- Aptitude & Reasoning

The application fee is ₹100 (non-refundable). Applications must be submitted online only.
