DEHRADUN: A 26-year-old woman pilgrim from Punjab died after allegedly falling into a deep gorge while on her way to Tungnath temple, officials said on Monday.State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) officials said the woman was reported missing on Sunday evening after she allegedly fell into a 400-metre-deep gorge near Ravanshila along the Tungnath trail. A search operation was subsequently launched.Her body was spotted deep inside the gorge along the Chopta-Tungnath route on Monday.Officials said the body was retrieved from the gorge with the help of police and carried on a stretcher for around 3 km to Chopta.The deceased was identified as Pooja Sahni (26), a resident of Punjab.The body was handed over to the district police for further action, officials added.(With Agency Inputs)
