Merchant Navy Recruitment 2025: A large number of vacancies have been announced in the Merchant Navy for various posts including Deck Rating, Engine Rating, Seaman, Electrician, Welder, Mess Boy and Cook.
The application process started on 26 July 2025 and will continue until 10 September 2025. Candidates must apply online only. The written examination is scheduled for September 2025, and results will be declared within five days of the exam.
Eligibility: 10th pass and 12th pass candidates can apply. For Deck Rating, Engine Rating and Seaman posts, the age limit is 17.5 to 25 years. For Electricians and Welders, the age limit extends up to 27 years. ITI qualification is required for Electrician and Welder posts. Mess Boy and Cook posts are open for 10th pass candidates.
Vacancies: More than 300 posts are available across categories. However, these vacancies are open only for male candidates.
Selection Process: The exam will have 100 multiple-choice questions from General Awareness, Science, English Knowledge, Aptitude, and Reasoning. The duration of the test is 2 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 applies for each wrong answer.
