November 1, 2026: New Rules Affect Mutual Funds, PNB Cards, Pensions and LPG Prices

Several financial and consumer-related changes have taken effect in India from November 1, 2026. SEBI has made Direct Plans the default option on mutual fund companies’ digital platforms. Investors choosing Regular Plans must be informed about their higher expense ratios. Punjab National Bank has also revised charges on eligible Visa and RuPay credit cards, including ATM cash withdrawals and certain utility bill payments. Meanwhile, pensioners below 80 years of age must submit their annual life certificate between November 1 and 30 to avoid possible payment interruptions. Commercial LPG has become costlier, with the 19-kg cylinder price rising by ₹10 in Delhi to ₹2,820. Domestic 14.2-kg LPG prices remain unchanged. Customers should check the applicable terms and charges before making financial transactions.
